Superior Construction Wins 'Healthiest Companies' Gold Award from First Coast Worksite Wellness Council
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 5, 2022) —
Superior Construction, an American family-owned infrastructure contractor, is proud to receive the Healthiest Companies Gold Level Award from the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council (FCWWC) for proactively supporting employees’ well-being. Superior was one of just 19 area businesses to receive the award.
Each year the FCWWC presents this award to companies that demonstrate a commitment to promoting worksite wellness and fostering a positive culture of health. To determine the winners, the council evaluates several key components of a well-rounded wellness program, including leadership alignment, work environment and culture, and the program’s overall design. Judges also take into account the way a company measures the success of its wellness initiatives and how it identifies opportunities for improvement.
“Even though we were awarded the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council Conference’s Silver award in 2022, our company leaders strived for more, dedicating more resources to ensuring wellness initiatives are properly measured each year; they also conducted an annual employee needs and interests survey to strategically select programs that will address their most prevalent health risks and conditions,” Calli Miller, HR Manager, Superior Construction. “Superior takes the phrase ‘family-owned and operated’ to heart and tries to support its employees’ well-being as if they were family.”
In addition to offering a comprehensive benefits package, Superior launched its wellness program in 2018, provided at no cost to its employees. Through the program, employees have access to on-site biometric screening and health coaching. The convenience of not having to set an off-site appointment makes workers more likely to keep up with recommended screenings. They also receive discounts on health insurance premiums based on health outcomes and participation in health coaching calls.
Through the Superior Strength Program, employees can be reimbursed up to $120 a year for money spent on gym memberships, fitness subscriptions or apps, personal training, and many more exercise-related activities. Superior employees also have access to a telemedicine program via Teledoc to ensure expedient and high-quality medical care.
