Superior Women in Construction: Jessica Paske
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (December 19, 2022) — Meet Superior’s Jessica Paske. She has been working in construction for over 15 years, following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father. Her dad, Robert Paske, is the Director of Field Operations at Superior and has been with the company since 1981. Meanwhile, her grandfather, also named Robert Paske, was a General Superintendent at Superior from 1978 until his retirement in 2010.
After watching her father and grandfather work in the construction industry, Jessica always appreciated their work ethic and the example they set. Although she didn’t always plan on following in their footsteps, she took the plunge and now considers construction a family business.
Jessica, who is part of Superior’s Women in Construction Initiative, joined Superior Construction in February of 2007 and says her favorite part of working for the company is the people. who surround her.
“Superior is truly a family company,” Jessica said.
A typical day on the job varies for Jessica. It can be anything from sitting at a desk completing various tasks to traveling to multiple projects and job sites. She gets the opportunity to talk to people in many different roles and assist with multiple responsibilities daily, which makes her work rewarding.
As a woman in construction, Jessica has had her fair share of challenges, as anyone in a new career field will, but she finds it incredibly rewarding to be a part of such a dynamic industry.
“I am very grateful for the journey it has been thus far, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for women in the industry.”
Jessica encourages women interested in construction to take the chance! Construction is busy and ever-expanding. More women need to be a part of its growth!
