Superior Wins 'Healthiest Companies' Platinum Award from First Coast Worksite Wellness Council
The First Coast Worksite Wellness Council (FCWWC) has recognized Superior Construction with a 2024 Platinum-level Healthiest Companies Award. The local program celebrates organizations’ efforts to support employee health and well-being.
The Platinum Award, the highest of the four categories, recognizes “best-in-class wellness programs” that “truly create a culture of health and well-being throughout their organization.” Superior previously received Silver- and Gold-level recognition from the FCWWC, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment since formally launching its wellness program in 2018.
“We’ve been identifying new ways to support our employees and raise the bar for our health and wellness program ever since,” said Calli Miller, SHRM-SCP, Superior’s Director of Human Resources. “It’s rewarding to see those efforts recognized, but we’re not slowing down either. We’re continuing these efforts and listening to the needs of our employees so we can all be our best selves, whether at work or home.”
In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, Superior’s wellness program provides employees access to on-site biometric screening and health coaching, helping workers proactively keep up with recommended screenings. They also receive discounts on health insurance premiums based on health outcomes and participation in health coaching calls.
Through the Superior Strength Program, employees can be reimbursed up to $120 a year for money spent on gym memberships, fitness subscriptions or apps, personal training, and many more exercise-related activities. Employees have access to a telemedicine program via Teledoc to ensure convenient and high-quality medical care.
“Employee health and wellness is ingrained in Superior’s culture,” said Bernadette Overstreet, Total Rewards Manager. “We continually strive to make employees feel valued, appreciated, inspired and resilient — because they truly are.”
Superior also has begun publishing a “Wellness Matters” section in its quarterly employee newsletter, featuring practical content tailored for Superior workers on topics ranging from mental health to diet and nutrition.
The First Coast Worksite Wellness Council’s mission is to improve the health of the First Coast community by sharing resources and providing guidance through its member businesses. The FCWWC was established in 2008 as a community work group led by a partnership between the Florida Department of Health in Duval County and the City of Jacksonville Mayor’s Council on Fitness and Wellbeing.
