Superior Women in Construction: Jenny Ferman
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 14, 2022) — Meet Superior Construction Field Engineer Jenny Ferman. Jenny first got introduced to the construction industry after attending a career fair hosted by her university. She took the leap and decided to join the Superior Construction team over three years ago.
Each day on the job as a field engineer varies drastically. Some days she’s up at 2 a.m. coordinating concrete trucks for a deck pour; others, she could be in the office working on contracts or payments for subcontractors. Jenny appreciates the dynamic environment and unique challenges that come with working in the construction industry and her ability to be a part of transforming the city she grew up in.
Her favorite part about working for Superior is the people and the welcoming environment that encourages everyone to be themselves. For the short time she’s been with Superior, she commends the amazing mentors she’s had who have demonstrated that the only thing Superior looks at is the amount of effort you are willing to put in and your ability to pay attention to every detail to ensure everything goes smoothly.
To women interested in working in construction, Jenny says, “Go for it! If you are in college, you can pick a related field, such as engineering or construction management. If you are not in college, the trades are also a great option!”
